The call is coming when you will face an electric vehicle (EV) battery fire. Developed over six years in partnership with leading automotive companies the Rosenbauer battery extinguishing system technology (BEST) does the job with a fraction of the water and within an hour or less. When positioned adjacent to the battery pack on the vehicle, the piercing unit punctures the battery pack and halts thermal runaway by injecting cooling water around the battery cells at just eight gallons per minute and keeping the firefighter a safe 25ft away.
