NEW PROCESS FOR VIRGINIA OFFICE OF EMS FINGERPRINT-BASED BACKGROUND CHECKS – DEADLINE TO UTILIZE NEW PROCESS IS JANUARY 1, 2020

Some individuals have expressed concern that the location of the Fieldprint offices are not convenient (proximity or hours of operation) for their volunteer members. There is a process to request an exception through the VAOEMS office that will alloow the use of ink and paper fingerprint cards.

Jurisdictions that have ordinances for the collection and submission of fingerprints, and interpretation of background results to determine eligibility for EMS certification and or affiliation in the Commonwealth of Virginia are not impacted by this new process.
